How pretty. I sewed a pillow just once for home ec (remember that class? I think they went out in the 1960s except in New Hampshire!) when I was 12 and I wish I had continued to learn sewing. Homemade gifts are the best kind.

So … you took home ec … but “think” it went out in the 60’s?? Just how old are you? LOL (btw – it was still taught here in Oklahoma into the 80’s).

We had home ec in high school, but I didn’t take it. That would’ve been in the late eighties. My mom was a terrible cook, and I learned nothing from her. I learned everything I know about cooking from, first, a boyfriend/gourmet, then cooking shows and magazines, and most importantly, just trying new things.
