Labyrinths
The groundbreaking trans-genre work of Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) has been insinuating itself into the structure, stance, and very breath of world literature for well over half a century. Multi-layered, self-referential, elusive, and allusive writing is now frequently labeled Borgesian. Umberto Eco's international bestseller, The Name of the Rose, is, on one level, an elaborate improvisation on Borges' fiction "The Library," which American readers first encountered in the original 1962 New Directions publication of Labyrinths.

Absolutely – subject much on my mind this Monday morning
Water still rising?
Should peak this morning for us, but no idea how much rain is yet to come. This started as a cyclone in the Gulf of Carpentaria, in the northern tip of Aust and is working down the entire eastern seaboard. It is moving into New South Wales now. Land of extremes!
We’re all thinking of you guys from over here on the other side of the world. Is it me, or is Australia experiencing stronger storms, and more frequently?
Unlikely animal friendships are always heartwarming……recently saw on TV someone’s pet lion playing with a sheep. (maybe it was a prelude to something else, like a wine lover firstly swilling it around and sniffing the bouquet)
Wow. Were they grown or babies? I can see all sorts of possible Christian implications there, with the lion lying down with the lamb and all.
They were adults….somewhere in South Africa.
There are lots of Christian implications which don’t bear thinking about.
