Yes, it’s real. It’s an actual photograph taken by Cassini when it flew by. Natural colors. That’s Titon in the foreground.
Waaaahhh..amazing..looks like painting..
Cassini is bringing us some incredible images…and Titan with its murky planet-like atmosphere is quickly becoming one of my favorite moons.
They just crashed an orbiter on Titan and got the first-ever photos of the surface! (Did I see that on your blog?)
LOL, yep you did. Actually it was in Jan 2005, so we just had an anniversary of the probe landing. I’ve read that NASA and the ESA are planning a return visit in like 2033.
Kewl.
