When it snows, we have to park one of the cars about a half mile away, by the County-maintained road that gets plowed. This is what our walk out to the car looks like.

Oh, my God! So much snow. It must be hard to walk all away to main road.
BTW I love the picture!
It is a serious workout! Plus, we’re carrying everything we’re going to need later, like clothes, shoes, shovels, canteen, groceries, laundry, purse…
Wow … I’m glad it doesn’t sHow like that around here …
Still, it all melts pretty quickly. Usually within a few hours to a few days.
sHow … kim … (H)
I’m being a jerk …
I thought you just misspelled it… I guess I don’t get it?
Read the 3rd word of your post.
Whoops!!! BAD, BAD proofreader! BAD!!!
How do you walk that distance in those conditions? Or do you have a snow vehicle of some sort? Snow always seems so romantic to me, in hot Australia (we have snow in a very small southern area most winters) but the practicality of living with snow appears mind boggling.
No snowshoes, we just post-hole our way along. The snow’s never more than a couple of feet deep. It takes a few minutes, and we have to stop and rest, but it’s not bad. Worst part is, the last half-mile is up a steep hill! By the time we get to the car, we’re ready to strip off a layer of clothing!
That’s amazing! But beautiful!! We used to do that, too, but back then I wasn’t working so only hubby had to trek back and forth with his lunch box. It is pretty, but I know it is hard work when you have to walk through it carrying everything.
Especially at night!
Back in my day, we had to walk two miles in the snow to school. It was 6 feet deep and it was all uphill – both ways! If only we could have afforded shoes.
When I was a kid, my mom drove me to school. Now that I’m an adult, I have to trudge through snow!
We envied the people who actually had feet …
LOL!!!
That’s a beautiful way to keep fit…..
It really is. Plus, you have to eat more, just to keep warm, let alone all the hiking!
Wow, that is so beautiful! I really do miss seeing that same kind of scene from back east.
With your thin Phoenix blood, you’d freeze in no time!
