I’ve acquired an UglyDoll. His name is UglyBot, but I think we’ll be calling him “BlackBot.” His mission is to serve humans. We took him on an outing. He immediately climbed a tree.
"BlackBot climb tree. See better."
In order to gather data about his immediate surroundings, BlackBot wanted to gain high vantage points:
"Gathering data... uploading..."
His keen observation skills started paying off right away. He spotted some large, new, green acorns. A sure sign of approaching winter!
"BlackBot find unfamiliar object. Searching files..."
We brought them inside, where BlackBot demonstrated his encoded decorating skills.
"A-Corns fill space here in pleasing arrangement."
Aaa! I love this! Horray Blackbot, although giving him a tree-eye advantage might mean world domination. I so want to get an Ugli doll.
You should get one! They’re becoming popular, so the prices are higher than they were when I first bought my Sailor Babo. But I recommend getting a little guy for starters. They’re a lot easier to pose for photos, and you can stuff them in your handbag or rucksack when you travel. Not that Sailor Babo likes being stuffed next to my wallet and a package of Orbit gum, lol.
LMAO yeah when I’m tired and driving for 2 hours after a long day I’ve been known to stick my gum on just about anything. I hate having to pull over and find a garbage can.
I totally plan to get one. I like the Ugli dolls a bit better because I can relate to the concept of being mean and dishevelled. I prefer big stuff but thank you for the reminder that I can stuff a small one in my bag. I do prefer to travel light and I like stuff that fits in my Timbuk bag.

Yeah, BlackBot is a smaller one, about 7 inches high. They even make keychain-sized ones.

Gracie’s more interested in her felt mice. Stacks of heavy-duty gray felt, like a mini chalkboard eraser. She LOVES them.

Sailor Babo has competition! Though I guess they’re cousins of sorts, coming from the same company.
Blackbot’s teeth look like green acorns. I’ve always liked lime green with black, but the green acorns on the linen tablecloth look so delicate and Victorian.
GOM is right, don’t leave Blackbot alone with the kitty. Critters think Uglydolls are perfect chew toys, but in fact they’re so soft and fragile they get ripped pretty easily.

You are so lucky in the US. Political correctness would require the name to be something like “colour challenged” bot.
Even UglyBot is pushing it. Perhaps Negative Beauty Bot would pass though.
Luckily, being a robot, hence having no feelings to offend, BlackBot is blissfully unaware of any of this “political correctness” of which you speak.
He looks like a distant cousin to LOLBeeeze’s Sailor Babo doll. Any relation?
